It's alive!
I grew up playing Eamon on Apple 2 computers back in the 1980s. It was one of the games I loved as a kid, and was one of the reasons I learned to write code back then. For years, I have been dreaming of a way to bring it onto the web, in a format that was easy to play without having to deal with an emulator.
Now, here it is, with a basic Main Hall and the first few adventures:
The Beginner's Cave, of course, which is the starting point for most novice adventurers.
The Training Ground is another good adventure for novice adventurers to build their stats. Plus, it has some nifty special effects which were a good test of the game engine.
The Eamon Deluxe Demo Adventure was created by Frank Black for his MSDOS-based Eamon Deluxe system. It's a simple little adventure that shows the capabilities of the core code, without any special programming.
Beyond that, I ported a few more classic adventures: The Magic Kingdom, Caves of Treasure Island, The Devil's Dungeon, and Furioso. These were a few of my favorite adventures from the old Apple 2 days. It was fun to get them working again in a brand new format.
I hope everyone enjoys playing Eamon as much as I enjoyed remaking it.
