New Adventure: The Abductor's Quarters

Sept. 28, 2017

This is another early Eamon by Jim Jacobson, author of Cave of the Mind. It's a rescue mission in a dungeon run by a renegade adventurer with a taste for abductions and torture.

I took a few liberties with this conversion, enhancing a few of the descriptions. Instead of having generic monsters like Guard1 and Guard2, the dungeon is populated by a motley crew of renegade adventurers from the Main Hall.

This adventure has a couple nifty special effects. As in the original Apple II version, there is one cursed item. You also need to find something special to be able to light the lantern. In addition, I added another brand-new special effect: one of the bad guys is a mage who can cast HEAL and BLAST spells just like the player.

New Adventure: The Last Dragon

Aug. 30, 2017

This is an adventure originally written by prominent Eamon author Roger Pender. It's a large adventure with a number of elaborate special effects, including a cave that has four different incarnations, which may be different every time you play. It's really two adventures in one: finding and dealing with Vincingotrix, the Last Dragon, and taking the optional additional quest of defeating the Dark Lord Sauron. Roger drew inspiration from both the Lord of the Rings and the works of Richard Wagner.

If you're going to give this one a try, make sure to bring a seasoned character and your best magic sword. The combat can be very tough, especially in the early going when you don't have any companions. But there's lots of gold as a reward.

New Adventure: Assault on the Clone Master

Aug. 14, 2017

The Assault on the Clone Master was another of the early Eamon adventures by Donald Brown. It was a hack-n-slash adventure with a few nifty special effects like monsters that moved around and a Clonatorium that would respawn dead clone guards.

This version is a complete reimagining of the Clone Master's fortress, in a steampunk theme. The map and puzzles are significantly expanded from the original, with many new artifacts and a few new monsters. There are mutliple ways to solve most of the puzzles, so each time you play, there is something new to do.
